This is another scam call from someone claiming to represent HMRC. They will tell you that you have been called because this particular government agency has to file a case against you for tax evasion. However, we can safely say that this is not true.
Our research has shown that upon visiting Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs Website, they are aware of the scam and urge people not to share any personal or financial information that they might possess right away.
Some customers even reported that they had been threatened by these scammers with police presence in their home. If you’re one of those customers, don’t be afraid because all you have to do is to report the number and the real HMRC will take care of it right away.
Don’t be intimidated by the call. Just keep your presence of mind about you and you will not get in trouble for sure.
